Summary: Five times Jim Kirk epically failed to keep a secret from his command crew, and one time his command crew kept it for him

A/N: And so this ends. Thank you, lovely people who have been so kind as to comment and encourage during this spin into AOS land - I truly appreciate each and every comment and they absolutely make my day. Much love to you all.

Rating: T for movie-level language and violence
Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers for all AOS movies and various TOS episodes, any specifics notated in each section. This chapter, vague spoilers for Into Darkness and a couple TOS episodes, Conscience of the King and Trouble with Tribbles - though this really can't be categorized as a reboot of either.
Summary: Five times Jim Kirk epically failed to keep a secret from his command crew, and one time his command crew kept it for him

A/N: Obviously the few skeletal elements you recognize from Trouble with Tribbles are not mine. Regarding Conscience of the King elements: rather than embellishing upon the way over-used Tarsus angle, I chose to keep it background here, especially since we have zero indications in screen AOS canon as to whether or not it even occurred in the AOS timeline. So take that speculation how you will.

A/N: Obviously the background plot of this is ripped off of the TOS episode This Side of Paradise; I don't own those elements, what few there are.

A/N: This really wasn't intended to be primarily revolving around Kirk and Spock, but these early chapters just seem to be lending themselves to that. The next is very much McCoy-centric, though, so my fellow Triumvirate fans can rest easy in that knowledge.

 Title: Minds Over Other Matters

Characters: Spock, Kirk, various
Genre: Gen, H/C, Humor
Word Count: 17,800
Rating: T for themes and movie-level language

Warnings/Spoilers: Vague spoilers for AOS movies, spoilers of sorts for TOS episodes Mirror, Mirror, Amok Time, and Empath, but no knowledge of those episodes necessary to understand this fic. No lack of mental consent between main characters, warning for brief and non-graphic lack of that with a minor character in the very last section. Also, I do acknowledge the Spock/Uhura movie relationship, though I write only gen fic so it's only more than referenced in Section II.

Summary: Five times a mind meld with Jim Kirk worked just fine, and one time where it really, really didn't

A/N: I've rebooted several TOS episodes here and likely unconsciously thrown in a hodgepodge of other TOS elements because that's where my original heart lies, so anything you recognize likely does not belong to me. The rest of this nonsense does.

Warnings/Spoilers: Probably not warning-necessary at this point, but major spoilers for the finale scenes of Star Trek: Into Darkness. Thereby, warning for off-screen character death and speculation for missing scenes. Story has now been moved to the TOS/AOS Crossover section, since it technically crosses those boundaries now.

Summary: Five times through the centuries that Spock of Vulcan was surprised by Jim Kirk's human selflessness, and one time he was not at all surprised.

A/N: This is the chapter which I actually had completed and waiting to post, on my hard drive which crashed months ago – most of the original content of which I unfortunately haven't been able to recall. What I have reproduced here, now very slightly influenced by Beyond, will have to suffice instead. My apologies for the slight melancholy at the end; feel free to go read my fic Second-Best Destiny if you want an AOS/TOS universe fix-it.

Warnings/Spoilers: Basic TOS spoilers and speculation for all sections, specific TOS movie-era spoilers for this section - TWOK, TSFS, TVH. This has been done before, I'm sure, but not by me, not quite like this I hope. Usually my movie-era fics are lighthearted in nature, but it can't all be rainbows and marshmelons.
Summary: Five times through the centuries that Spock of Vulcan was surprised by Jim Kirk's human selflessness, and one time he was not at all surprised.
A/N: And once again, this is another WIP which I lost a good chunk of a while back, and am even now trying to remember where the heck I was going with it. Bear with me, por favor, while I try to wrap up another WIP.

I paused on my NaNo after passing 28K, primarily because I have apparently been battling optic nerve inflammation and a severe case of keratitis, which is an infection of the corneas, for those who aren't in the know – and as such, haven't been able to see my computer screen well enough to read anything on it, even blown up to about size 40 type face. I'm getting treatment for the condition now, and in a couple weeks should have my vision back, and I fully intend to finish the novel in December.

Title: Five Kinds of Crazy
Characters/Pairings: Primarily Kirk, Spock, Uhura, & McCoy, background Spock/Uhura
Rating: T for language
Word Count: 23,300ish total, this section 8000

Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers for some plot points of Generations, although no knowledge of the movie is necessary to understand this section - and for those of you who are worried, NO CHARACTER DEATH. We've been there, done that enough times, people.

Various TOS references tossed in here and there; I couldn't footnote them all without really disrupting the flow so just kudos to you if you spot them. Vulcan words are taken or pieced together from the online Vulcan Language Dictionary (VLD). Warning for complete speculation as to the AOS equivalent of movie-era TOS time frame.

Summary: Five times some part of Spock's Vulcan nature annoyed James Kirk to no end, and one time he (literally) couldn't live without it.

A/N: I have to apologize for the tardiness of this posting; I had this section nearly completed when I began posting this story, and then decided it needed scrapped and re-written because I wasn't happy with it - and then proceeded to do the same thing again a third time with about half of it. My apologies, but I don't like posting something I can tell isn't right, or isn't at least what I wanted to come out of my head the way I wanted it. Also, apologies to Uhura fans, but she isn't in this chapter; I am at heart a Triumvirate writer and she simply didn't belong in this time frame, in this head canon I created.

Warnings/Spoilers: This section only, blatant Spock/Uhura, but nothing sexual. However, if you absolutely can't stand that ship, you may want to skip. I'm not the biggest fan myself; but this is their world, and we must live in it - so we may as well enjoy the ride, as I've tried to do here, to lighten up the angst before the final piece of this story.

Title: Five Kinds of Crazy
Characters/Pairings: Primarily Kirk, Spock, Uhura, & McCoy, background Spock/Uhura
Rating: T for language
Word Count: 17,000ish total, this section 4300

Warnings/Spoilers: This is the section with major spoilers for Star Trek: Beyond, so if you've not seen the movie and do not want spoiled, do not read it. If you are itching for some H/C to follow up on the end of it, well, here you go, the obligatory post-Yorktown missing scenes.

Summary: Five times some part of Spock's Vulcan nature annoyed James Kirk to no end, and one time he (literally) couldn't live without it.

A/N: An explanation of the crew count, for detail nuts like me: TOS enthusiasts know that the crew complement of the TOS Enterprise was only a little over 420 people, give or take a few at any given time; however, it's been obvious in the AOS movies that the Rebooted Enterprise is a much larger ship, just evidenced to me by the fact that its Bridge crew was much larger, its Engineering section was much larger, etc. It's obvious from footage of the ship itself that it's a much bigger ship. So I don't think it's a stretch to say that the crew total was at least double the 400-odd crewmen count of the TOS Enterprise.

Some references to TOS episode Journey to Babel in the third section, though no knowledge of that episode is really necessary to understand the section, and references to Generations in the final section, though again you can read it just fine without knowledge of those plot points.

Summary: Five times some part of Spock's Vulcan nature annoyed James Kirk to no end, and one time he (literally) couldn't live without it.

A/N: In this section, some parallels drawn from the TOS episode Journey to Babel, as well as the references to Vegan choriomeningitis; both are legitimate TOS nods, but no knowledge of either is necessary to understand this section. Anything you don't recognize did not happen in TOS.

A/N: Thank you all for your absolutely lovely reviews - I wish I had the time to respond to each of you individually at the moment but please know that your feedback is the biggest encouragement to me at a very hectic time in my life.

A disclaimer to my TOS readers, about this section and future sections: As you can probably guess, my initial misgivings about the AOS were that it seemed to me they were trying to cram Spock/Uhura down everyone's throats in order to prevent people from "shipping" any other pairing, canon or otherwise. As a result, I found it very hard to even find chemistry between Kirk and Spock, much less the TOS Triumvirate. I also didn't like the way the AOS seemed to try to insert Uhura as the third arm of the Triumvirate instead of McCoy; however, I do think her character is a fascinating one, and for once was treated very well in the second two movies, Beyond especially, much better than she was (could have been, since it was still the prejudiced 60s) in TOS. However, it took a long time for me to formulate a head-canon into which the four of them could fit as equals and still satisfy me as an old-schooler, so take this with a grain of salt and understand it's merely my personal perception of what could be, rather than what I really expect to see on-screen. I hope to treat all four characters with respect, without losing anyone in the process who may not like one of them.

A/N: So I write nothing for over a year, due to personal events almost destroying my creativity – but when my muse returns she apparently does with a vengeance, because what I originally intended as a short five-and-one developed into this 17,000-word monstrosity without my intention. I have to admit I loved the third AOS movie far more than its two predecessors, for various reasons which I won't here detail; suffice to say, hopefully I don't entirely butcher the AOS characters and amalgamate them with TOS while I'm here.
